Comparing Samsung Phones: Galaxy S10 vs Note 9

If you're a Samsung smartphone devotee, you're likely familiar with the current and past Galaxy models. In this article, we'll take you through a comparison of the Galaxy S10 vs Note 9. Then, you can compare Samsung phones and easily decide which model you want to look into. The Galaxy Note 9 was released in August 2018, so it's an older model than the Galaxy s10, which was released in March 2019. The Note 9 is a bigger and heavier phone, which makes sense because it is an older model.

Similar & Different Galaxy Features

Overall, both phones look similar on the outside. They have the typical Galaxy curved screens, metal frames, horizontal rear cameras, and glass backs. The Galaxy S10 and Note 9 each have fairly similar screen resolutions (3040x1440 vs. 2960x1440), screen sizes, and charging capabilities. However, the S10 does pull ahead with slight improvements in different screen size options and battery features.

Screen Resolution:

Both devices use an AMOLED display, but the S10 has slightly better resolution levels. The S10 also has more screen size options with sizes available in 5.8, 6.1, 6.4 and 6.7, whereas the Note 9 is strictly offered in a 6.4 inch screen.

Camera:

As for cameras, the S10 has one more rear camera than the Note 9.

Battery Life:

If charging speeds and battery staying-power are your main concern, the S10 wins in that department. Samsung improved their wireless charging speeds and slightly increased how long the battery can last on the S10. Users can also take advantage of the wireless charging capabilities on the S10 to charge friends' devices from their own phone.

Security:

If you found the fingerprint reader on the back of the Note 9 awkward to use, you'll enjoy the fingerprint reader on the front of the S10.

Overall, the biggest differences between the galaxy S10 vs Note 9 models are that the Note 9 is cheaper and comes with an S-pen stylus while the S10 gets slight spec improvements. If savings are your primary concern, the Note 9 could be a good option to get most of the S10 capabilities for less money. On the other end, if you can't live without the stylus, the Note 9 is for you. If you're all about the latest features, highest possible processing power, and additional camera lenses—the Galaxy S10 might be best for you.
