Whether you’re selling your device, trading it in or checking to see if it’s compatible with certain accessories or software, you may be wondering “What phone do I have?”. We’ll show you how to find your phone model whether you have an iPhone or Android in just a few easy steps.
How to Find Your Phone Model: iPhones
Open your Settings app.
At the top of the menu, you’ll see your Apple ID, profile photo and your name. Tap on it.
Scroll down until you see a list of your Apple devices. The first device on the list should be your iPhone and it will say “This iPhone”. Tap on this device.
Under the “Device Info”, you’ll see Model.
If you also need to need to find your model number, capacity or serial number:
Open your Settings app.
Scroll down and tap “General”.
At the top of the page, click on “About”.
The number will be listed next to “Model Number”.
If you have anything earlier than an iPhone 8, another way to find your phone model is by checking the back of the device for the A number. The A number is very small, so grab a magnifying glass if you need to. It will say “Model A####”. Take note of this number, as it will determine which phone model you have, and then compare it to this list:
Scroll down to “About Phone” OR “System” (depending on your phone model).
Select “About Phone”.
The model will be listed under “Phone Name”.
To find more info than that, such as the model number, keep scrolling down and look for “Hardware info.” The model number will be listed there. You can also check the back of your Android device or remove the battery to find the manufacturer’s sticker, which will also list the brand and model number.
